Problems installing Ubuntu 7.10 on dell 1501

Hi, I tried to install Ubuntu 7.10 from a DVD and I always receive an error:

Error: Microcode "bcm43xx_microcode5.fw" not available or load failed.

and I can't continue to install Ubuntu.

If someone have an advice I will be glad to hear because I don't know how to go forward.

the bcm stuff are wireless drivers if I recall correctly. Is this a PC Card wireless NIC? If so, try removing it before running the install.

You may just have a bad CD. Does your NIC work when you boot into the LiveCD? If so, I would try re-downloading or re-burning and see if it solves it.

I assume this is not the reason of your installation problems. This means that your WLAN chip wouldn't work without some sweat (see http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...failed-467164/).
I can't imagine how this should Ubuntu prevent from installing.
Are there any other error reports?
