problems installing SUSE 8.2
 

I´m installing SUSE 8.2, selected LILO for loader, then installation started. It seems is going to request CD 2 but it never does, when finishes CD 1, just goes to FINISHING BASIC INSTALLATION, then goes through:

Update Configuration
Copy files to installed system
Install boot manager, when progress bar reaches 75%, it freezes.

I´ve done this process many times, but never get anything, this is frustrating.

Any help will be appreciated.

I've had a similar problem in that I get to CD 2 and it does that part but it never "finishes the installation" that is it never gets to the part where i supply a root password and so on. i can get suse to boot up but then i can't log in.

do others have these installation problems with Suse 8.2?

:confused: Actually I had the same problem before on a laptop. Whenver I tried installing SuSE the processor would heat up and my laptop would shut down. I'm still working on this issue. Have you tried obtaining another distribution by the way. I am running Mandrake 9.2 on my desktop. Everything works fine.
