problems Installing licq

I tried to install an icq for linux but I didn-t have success anybody can help me
first I tried to install an rpm but when I used I got an error that says that I can-t install rpm 3<= I have rpm 3
so I downloaded another archive and I got an error with a library of gnome
Im using redhat 6.1 using gnome

that's the joy of dependencies... you gotta find which rpms need upgrading and do it normally. you've not given any information about the gnome problem, so we can't help you there. when i have some dependency i can't suss, i use rpmfind.net and search for the missing thing, to find what provides it.
