Problems installing Fedora Core 3
Hi, im in need of some help if you can
I'm trying to install FC3. So i rebooted my computer, inserted CD1 which had its MD5 checked before burning, and i press enter. Then fedora loads some small files, the screen flashes and it says Everything's OK and that it's loading the Kernel. At this point my computer reboots every time. I tried getting it not do any hardware checks or monitor checks, but it still reboots at that screen. I run a compaq and im trying to install Linux on a 2nd hard drive. The 1st harddrive has WinXP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
Do you get any errors printed to the screen before the system reboots.

It sounds like you may have a corrupted disc.
I'd try burning the disc agian at a slower speed burning discs at the max speed, especially if it is the discs max often causes this. blank discs are cheap, try it. |
i do not get any errors before the system reboots

I just burned the CD1 image at the lowest speed and tried installing again, same thing happens, no errors just that when it says "OK, booting from Kernel" my system always reboots.
