1) try running "alsaconf"
2) try adding [b]Option "ZAxismapping" "4 5"[/code] to your "InputDevice" section in your X Config file(/etc/X11/xorg.conf , XF86Config-4 etc), and change the Protocol to "IMPS/2"

as for your sound issue: im lost
as for the IM issue - this is a forum. responses will be placed here so others can benefit
as for your scroll wheel problem - open up your /etx/X11/xorg.conf and change the following information
try adding Option "ZAxismapping" "4 5" to your "InputDevice" section in your X Config file(/etc/X11/xorg.conf , XF86Config-4 etc), and change the Protocol to "IMPS/2"

scuzzman thank you for your help so much, but can you go into alittle more detail? cause i dont know how to open my /etx/X11/xorg.conf and edit it. oh and my mouse, its a USB mouse not PS/2, do you still want me to edit it to IMPS/2?

thanks!

P.S. Do you know how to get my sound to work?

sound issue im lost m8 sorry
as for the mouse though:
go to a command prompt and issue this command sequence:
Code:
[username@localhost ~]$ su
Passsword:
[root@localhost user]# cd /etc/X11
[root@localhost X11]# ls | grep xorg.conf
paste the output here
if it simply returns 'xorg.conf', then issue this sequence
Code:
[root@localhost X11]# gedit xorg.conf
and do the steps
as for the usb/ps2 issue: im not sure
try it and find out
worst comes to worst, your mouse doesnt work

hmm... checked creative's site - got this

You have selected Sound Blaster Audigy® LS and Linux.
To receive support for a different product, click here.

Sorry, no Creative updates are available for the selected query.

*but* i checked the HCL and found this.
