Problems during installation... (fatal errors everywhere)

It happened again.. failure!! Let me tell you the story

Im a linux newb. but anyway. I downloaded Slackware 9.1 (bothj of the .iso files for installation)

I burnt them to cd.. all perfect. they were not corrupt every was fine.

I boot cd.. everything seems okay. setup goes.. installation starts and things start going wrong.

I get these error messages over and over with differnt files (all .tgz)

Installpkg Error #1

Fatal error attempting to install (example: /var/log/mount/slackware/a/coreutils-5.i486-4.tgz.) This package may be corrupt, installation media bad, or something else the package to be corrupt (something like that)

This error has an OK box at bottom but it says if the file were curcial its not gonna work.. if i press ok the error comes up again with the next file. Any ideas? I established its not a faulty cd

What motherboard/chipset have you got?
You may be experiencing a bug in DMA
transfers... try to pass

ide=nodma
or
hdb-nodma
(if this were your CDROM)

to the kernel at the prompt on the boot-screen.

Cheers,
Tink

P.S.: Don't give up easily, Slack ownz ;)
