problems booting up after power failure.

Currently, I have a RedHat server that has power failure last friday. Eversince that, the server is not able to boot up. It stops at the "Freeing unused kernel spaces" and just stop there.

Any ideas how I can recover the system to boot again?

One thing is for sure, I am getting UPS for the server.

boot a rescue disk and have a look at the logs.. especially anything to do with dmesg.
also, run fsck on the boot partiton.

you running a custom compiled kernel or the default redhat9 kernel....
if your running the default redhat 9... boot a rescue disk, chroot into the root partiton, then un-install the kernel and then re-install.
