Welcome to the WONDERFUL world of Broadcom wireless chips.

Step 1: Broadcom sucks. Their support of open source is NEARLY non-existent, their proprietary drivers are buggy, and their naming scheme is maddening as it seems there is no logical pattern.

Step 2: Is zorin based on Ubuntu or Debian? IF so, while connected to a wired network, you should be able to install broadcom-sta-dkms (I think) package. This will allow your machien to build the proprietary wl driver for your existing kernels, and this should work. Note, I believe this still requires you to manually blacklist all the open source broadcom drivers to keep them from interfering, but it's been a while since I owned a Broadcom wifi card so I'm not certain that it doesn't do it automatically.

Here's the debian instructions for getting wl installed and working

If zorin is based on something else, then that's still probably possible, but the package name is probably different.

Yep. Zorin is a Ubuntu spinoff. Here is Ubuntu info for your broadcom chip.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...Driver/bcm43xx

Edit: Just for info. Zorin 9 is a Ubuntu 14.04 spinoff.

2nd edit: Just to humor this biker. Can you open a terminal. Copy and paste my command to see if Zorin included it in their release?

Code:
inxi -Fxx
If it works. Copy and paste the readout in your next post.

Mine for example

Code:
harry@biker1:~$ inxi -N
Network: Card-1: Ralink RT2800 802.11n PCI driver: rt2800pci
Card-2: Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5756ME Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
           driver: tg3
I turned off the Broadcom wireless g chip in this Dell E5500. I used my bios functions to turn off Broadcom internal wireless. I run a wireless N pcmcia card in the slot in the side of my laptop instead with a Ralink wireless chip.

Oh. 1st post. Howdy and Welcome.
