This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Problem with Zorin and steam; can't d/l most games.
Hello, y'all with vast Linux knowledge, I've built my own gaming desktop, here are the specs:
1-MOBO Asus M5A78L-M LX Plus
2-AMD Radeon Graphics R9 270, 2GB DDR5 Memory
3-2 Hyper X Memory Cards totalling 16 Gb of RAM
Have installed and runninbg Zorin 9.0 Ultimate (Ubuntu 14.4) - MY PROBLEM, I am unable to downlolad any games especially "Minecraft", "League of Legends" and a host of other games on "Steam". I have Wine Geko (32 bit) 2.1 version installed and have Winetricks as well, when I open it I can install a host of games, however, nothing is installed. This is the last straw for me, I have no clue what to do do being a Newbie and unfortunately the folks at "Zoringroup/helpdesk" have been absolutely useless as well. Thanks.
Also, it might be a good idea in the future to use a more descriptive subject line. "Help Me" does not give persons browsing the forum any idea what your post is about; "Help Me with Steam on Zorin" would have been better.
Hello Frankbell, the descriptive subject line was indeed short but you got the big picture on my post, however, you have not really explained any solutions. I have Steam on the computer and Ubuntu 14.04 and still unable to download any of their games let alone, Minecraft and League of Legends.
I will let all of you know that whereever I have turned to be it this Forum or Zorin Group/Helpdesk I have received no concrete help whatsoever that tells me y'all don't know much about Linux.
Here is what I am going to do since I built my own Gaming Desktop, I will replace the current Hard Drive with a new WD Blue 1TB (WD10EZEX) Hard Drive, wait till windows 10 comes out which will be sometime in June, buy it, and download the software on this computer, headache gone.
P.S., I understand that not too many "Gamers" use Linux because of the troubles I have encountered with the OS.
Having a descriptive title helps YOU get responses from people with knowledge on the subject. Everyone here volunteers their time and knowledge and it is not practical, not to mention not very courteous, to expect everyone to actually open every single post to see what the subject may be.
frankbell was toughtful enough to look beyond your own disregard of the posting guidelines (plainly visible when you made the post) and was trying to be helpful by pointing out to you that a better title would get better results. He also went to the trouble to look up a couple of links, even though the subject was outside his own sphere of knowledge and experience.
Your subsequent disregard of his courtesy and seeming sense of entitlement is frankly, very rude and unwelcome here.
Thank you, I will astrogeek, if Frankbell has no knowledge regarding Linux then he should not butt in, his links were useless, I thank him though. As for you, a cold shower or anger management is in order.
P.S. I went with the title given "Help Me", or "Uregent", the decription of the problem should be good enough to follow up with it, what do I know, I am a direct decendant of the "Neanderthal Man". Have a good day.
Since it was in no way clear in your initial post that you had installed Steam for Linux--in fact, your reference to wine definitely implied that you were trying to run Steam for Windows on a Linux machine--I went looking for information about Steam for Linux.
Had it been clear that you had indeed installed Steam for Linux and were having trouble getting the games, I would have suggested that this question might more properly have been directed to Steam support.
…......a cold shower or anger management is in order.
….that tells me y'all don't know much about Linux.
Your comments tell me that although you have changed the thread title from “Help me!!”, it is highly unlikely that you have changed your unpleasant attitude, so I for one will not be wasting my time trying to help you.
