Angry Problem With WIneX 3.31


Hello,

When i try to install this is what happens:

[root@localhost root]# wine /root/Desktop/Files/NFSU2_Demo.exe
Could not stat /root/.wine/%HOME%/.wine/c (No such file or directory), ignoring drive C:
fixme:cdrom:CDROM_GetIdeInterface not implemented for true scsi drives
Could not stat /root/.wine/%HOME% (No such file or directory), ignoring drive F:
Segmentation fault
[root@localhost root]#

Nothing ever works for me. Someone please help.

I'm not sure what the exact issue with winex is (I thought the command was winex3 also), but you shouldn't need to be running it as root.

If it's anything like the regular wine, then it CAN'T run as root. You have to execute it as a normal user.

WineX may not have that restriction, but I bet it does.

Unhappy I got that.. :( Error...

Hello..

My use Redhat9. When i finished to configure it. i run wine... but.. i got thats error...

[root@Redhat Linux]# wine
wine: creating configuration directory '/root/.wine'...
/usr/bin/wineserver: relocation error: /usr/bin/wineserver: symbol epoll_create, version GLIBC_2.3.2 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
wine: wineprefixcreate failed while creating '/root/.wine'.
[root@Redhat Linux]#

picospark, your question should be in a seperate thread as it's not really related to the original question. However a possible answer to your problem is the same, you shouldn't be running wine as root, there is no need for it. Whether the error is due to this I don't know.
