Problem with Ubuntu


I am a complete newbie and i had installed ubuntu in one of my pc's hard drive. But it booted in gui only for once...From next time onwards it says something like this....

BusyBox v1.01 (Debian 1:1.01-4ubuntu3) Built-in shell (ash)
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

Please help me I AM A COMPLETE NEWBIE

Welcome to LQ!

What happens after you get this message?

If you get a login prompt, try logging in and typing "startx".

Alternatively (It is naughty of me to suggest this), since you have only started using Ubuntu it may be quicker to just reinstall it.
