Problem with the booting [Fedora 8]
 

Hi to all. My English isn't well beforehand sorry for my mistakes which I most likely will do. I'm a beginner in Linux and therefor I confront with some problems, which I hope to solve with you. At the moment the problem in the booting of the system, the windows of log on doesn't appear. My recently actions: ISPconfig installation and russification the OS. After russification I was invited to reboot, in order to take effect the changes. After log off appeared the black screen with the cursor, it looked that something will download. But during the 40 minutes nothing happened. So I restart the pc, kernel and all services successfully were booted, but the log on window didn't appear, instead of it appeared the black screen with the cursor. Now, I again waiting May be I have to wait, but how long? Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks for any information!

P.S.: Use Gnome

Try to see if one of your consoles is working:

CTL + ALT + F1 ... or F2 ...

Hopefully you can log into an active console.

If you have xdm/gdm/kdm configured to start the X Windows login ... then it appears to be failing.

Check your Xorg log files for a clue.

I have root access to the server by putty. How can I restore the system language to English?
