problem with starting kdm: /dev/apm_bios

Hello,

I´ve just set up a new gendoo Linux system using Kernel 2.4.20.
There´s no problem with starting the xserver but I can´t open kdm. The machine first seams to open kdm but then tells me:

modprobe: Can´t locate module /dev/apm_bios

Is this a know problem? Anybody an idea how to solve it?

It looks like you did not create the devices for APM not sure how exactly Gentoo does it but in Debian you would cd /dev then MAKEDEV apm you should check the docs and see what the procedure is for your distro.
