Hi there i have recently implemented samba. The problem that i am facing is that i am not able to use internet properly with the limited user that i have created. The problem that i am facing is that i am not able to download anything from the email or from the site, and i am not able to run the installed plugins were as if i am logging as admin i am able to it fine. and one more thing you would be liking to be knowing that i am not using any policies or anything.
if you are saying its not about SAMBA then what can be the problem. I was thinking that it had to do something SAMBA because the admin users are able to work properly and everything is working fine. But were as the limited user is not. So you think that there can be something other than that then please suggest me what to do... Thank you...
Now i have noticed one more thing that i have installed acrobat reader. now i am not able to run acrobat in the limilted user account were as i am to run in the admin account. can please suggest me what may be the problem. please hurry as its urgent.,
The user using which im trying to open is limited user i haven't even added any Ntconfig.pol file, When im using root or any admin Id and opening Adobe Acrobat its working very fine just it is in he case of the limited user using which i cannot open this application.I have noticed that when im logged in user limited user and opening the Adobe Acrobat it is opening a service i.e AdobeAcrobar32.exe (or whatever) i can see that in the processes menu, but this process is working only for 20-30 seconds and its automatically exited either by software or by operating system(Winxp sp2). I have tried to check the same thing on different machines but it isn't working. I have made sure that the all the users have access to the installed files and folders. What could be the cause of this problem?
i moved it from networking, as it appears to not actually be about networking. you've not explained why you think samba is at all relevant, how these issues actually come about - try writing a simple flow of events... only thing i could possibly imagine is that you have home directories on samba which do not have write permissions? if so then that in turn is nothing to do with the internet... i do see though that you appear to be relating to windows machines?? why did you never even mention that until now??
