Problem with prolonged disk I/O states

Hi Guys

There is a huge I/O time delay in our server, I was told that it runs raid how would I know what raid it is running, and whether the time spent in disk I/O is really due to raid or my disks are failing.
It is a http server and the processes are taking much time in I/O state.
