Problem with Mplayer streaming
 
Ok Hi to all.

I'm new to Linux but have been messing with it off and on for awhile. I installed Xine, which gave me problems when I play a video the sound just keeps overlapping. Then I installed Mplayer which when I try to play a video the video doesn't stream. I thought I configured the video card which is a Matrox G450. Please someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, Thanks!

Hi there, and welcome to LQ :)

How did you go about installing mplayer, what distro are you running, how did you "configure" your video card, what are the options you are using when trying to use mplayer, are you running it from the command line or the graphical interface (gui), what else can you tell us about your hardware and also about anything else involved, such as an error message or any loud beeps, or fires ;)
