problem with make menuconfig


i follow steps that are in Building LFS-6.0 with nALFS 1.2.3

in step5 : i run "make menuconfig" and the bellow error occures
what is the problem ? how i fix it :

As a workaround, in package/config/mconf.c, you can change "static struct menu *current_menu;" to "struct menu *current_menu;".

more , i want to configure Linux kernel then build kernel. what you suggest to set up kernel in menuconfig?

I kept the default setup for Linux kernel and save it . then i run make command for build kernel but below error occurs :

I don't know which gcc version are you using and why are you trying to compile a so old kernel.
Maybe if I know the version of your gcc I can help more.
Maybe you're compiling an old 2.6.8 kernel with gcc-4.x and this won't work.
