Problem with "make install" command!

I am trying to install clamav-0.92rc2. I follow the read me file and it just says to follow the regular ./configure then make then make install. Problem is when I do the make install I get a permission denied.

Try doing the install as root.

use sudo

to install as root:

sudo make install

of course you have to have sudo permissions

That is the standard way to install tarballs. Some developers do combine the make and make install steps into a single make install step.
