Question problem with installing grub


hi . i tried to configure grub-1.96 but gave me an error that its need a lzo library to complete so i download it and put it in /usr/local/lib/
aslo i tried ./configure BUILD_LDDFLAGS=-L/usr/local/lib/ ... but still gave me the same error ?

Hi, linuxawe. It would help a great deal if you included in your post which distro you are using. It would also help to tell us why you chose to install from source code if your distro has another package system, such as .rpm, .deb, etc.

You have chosen to install LZO into /usr/local/lib. Is that the default install location, or your prefered choice? Did "./configure --help" offer alternatives, such as "--libdir=" as a choice to inform the configure routine of the lication of lzo?

i have a big problem .. i have centos and slackware on different HD .and i install grub on MBR from centos and have lilo on slackware , so i tried to install grub on slackware from centos like ABOVE to dual boot System but it seem i cant install it , am think to re-install lilo on slackware HD then access the slackware System and install grub , but i dosnt have any live cd that has lilo to do that !! so how can i install or enter slackware System and install grub ?
