What's Linux 8.0? Is that Red Hat 8.0?
How about trying to boot from text-only mode instead of graphics mode? Or can't you press F1 or something else to get other boot options? There's usually a boot option that let's you pick a particular "safe" monitor resolution before your video settings are specified in the installation? Have you considered, too, just using another distribution? More up-to-date distributions have better hardware detection, and hardware setup is the hardest part of Linux, really. |
Hello and welcome to LQ!
what flavour? Suse? Slackware? RedHat? Mandrake? Debian? ? umm... 8.0 sounds like an "old number" in regard to the major distros, and way to far in the future for others. so... perhaps this is too old to pick up your hardware. I like the way you specified your hardware. titanium_geek |
