Problem with Hibernate in Kubuntu 7.04

I'm running Kubuntu 7.04 on an older Micron P3 machine. Wanted to give Hibernate a try but now the machine won't come out of it. I can see the machine is running and the CD drives open an close OK, it's just stuck in sleep mode. Can't even get into setup and the BIOS to reinstall if necessary. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Did you put it to sleep or hibernate? If it's hibernate, that doesn't come into play until well after the BIOS and the bootloader.
