Problem with GRUB

I have just installed Ubuntu on a slave disk with Win96 on the Primary.(I don't pay BG until absolutely necessary) The system works great, however, I was using Maxblast3 which was a Dynamic Disk Overlay because the disk was larger than my BIOS could read.
After installing the GRUB, Win98 and Ubuntu both boot great, but the DDO does not load before windows and as a result I cannot see the data still on that drive.
Once I get my data off I will partition it into segments that can be read, but for now I need help either in doing away with the GRUB or adding something to it that will let the DDO execute.

It's more than likely that the DDO got overwritten by GRUB. If so, you'll need to dump the GRUB and reinstall the windows bootloader and the DDO. Ubuntu may be able to break the BIOS limit if you add hda=stroke to the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst but I'm not sure whether this command still works now that mosts disks get addressed as sdX.

Actually, the DDO (Ontrack) was still there because I changed the boot drive to HD1 in BIOS and Ontrack loaded. I was then able to load a Win98 recovery disk in A:\ and copy the files that I was concerned about losing to C:\. Then I reloaded the Ontrack.

That wiped the GRUB tho and now I am trying to figure how to put GRUB on a floppy and use that to load with until I get familiar enough to dump Windoze.
