Unhappy problem with ftp command


Hi Everyone,
whenever i run "ftp 192.168.122.3" command (where 192.168.122.3 is the addr. of remote host where vsftpd is running), i got succesful login.After then when i do "ftp> ls" then i got following as error--->
"500 illegal EPRT command "
please tell me how to solve this problem?
my systems have ubuntu-8.04, kernel-2.6.24-19

You can try turning off passive mode and see if that helps.
Once FTP'd to the server, type "passive" and it should say that passive is off. Then try the command again.

Thanks for your help, but the problem is i dont know how to turn-off passive mode.Can You help me?

hi, im able to login t remotehost via ftp command but im unable to access any remotehost's file. i got following things :-
ftp> ls
