nothing really. ive only had ubuntu installed for a day. i go on, did updates and heard about firestarter. So i tried it...

Did you add the additional repositories as indicated at the top the guide that I linked in the previous post?

which ones? there is a whole page. i had over 140 updates to download.

If you install automatix, it will add repo with firestarter in it.

This should get you started. Use the search feature of firefox to browse through this. Pretty much all your questions should be adressed here. Including: adding Repositories.
If you just type "firestarter" you'll find a nice walkthrough.

Did you go through the page to check out what is required. It clearly states that for firestarter installation you need additional repositories added to your /etc/apt/sources.list.
