Problem with Everex Laptop

I had updated the laptop through the original setup when I had purchased it. When it was done updating, it shutdown and when it started back up, a screen comes on that says memtest 86, how do I proceed to get that to come off and go straight to my startup screen?

Yes it was preinstalled on my laptop.
When I updated my computer the Memtest 86 came up and just keeps running, I contacted the makers of the computer and they told me to remove the disk, but their is no disk in it. I need help getting it off!

Usually, in cases of linux (I haven't had experience this memtest 86 offered by microsoft update in my windows days, maybe today it is) memtest 86 is offered as option along with other OS option at boot loader dialogue box. I mean here, there should be choice aside from it (memtest86) look above or below that line, use Arrow key to navigate the dialogue box and press enter for the choice; unless there was something unfavorable to your RAM or hardware specs that was auto-applied at update process.

it always pays good if you have answered the post questions above. telling us more about your systems, laptop, and what happened or what you did with it and its consequence, helps us more in helping you.

good luck.
