problem with compiz fedora 9

i recently installed the compiz window manager, but i cannot open the terminal or any other windows except for the web browser and file browser. i cant disable the desktop effect due to this problem. dont know whats wrong. i used the video card driver from the nvidia site

Fedora-9 has bleeding edge software (the x part too).
Compiz is not very compatible with kde too.
Disable compiz first and then check

the compiz was working fine until i change my video card to nvidia 280 and insalled the driver that ive downloaded from their site. wonder if the driver is the problem. my video card b4 was 8800 gt. its working fine without the compiz. is there a way to fix this?

compiz is only partly supported BUT compiz-fusion is fully supported

Somehow my problem using compiz in KDE fed 9 resolved
by :
installing Mesa3D from source code....

hope that can resolved your problem

iksandi , I take it you used the nvidia.run driver.That would have over wrote the mesaGL that was installed with fedora.
