Problem with a new partition device

Hi everybody,

In a 40GB SATA H.D.D have I installed Linux Enterprise AS 4. Sm space was left unpartitioned for future use. Recently I created a new partition let's call dev/sda12 with fdisk.
When I try to mount it I get:
mount: can't find /dev/sda12 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

What else should I do?
