Question Problem: SuSe 8.1 hang up after Freeing Unused Kernel Memory

Hi Folks:

though I am usiing Linux SuSe already quite a time, I was never into the administration. As everything was always ok, I never felt any need to go any deeper. But now I have a problem - and I don't know any further:

While experimenting with some heavy XSL Transformation today,
my system stopped ... As I thought I ran out of memory, I restarted the system - and than my problems began:

The system stops after the fatal words:
Freeing unused kernel memory: 124 K freed.

Can anybody give me a hint what I can do?

Thanx a lot. Bjoern
