Problem starting X

When I try to run the X server, my display switches to graphics mode and then the whole PC freezes. I think it's my display drivers (I'm on an integrated sis630 chipset btw) but I don't know to change them.

you could try running xf86config and selecting the svga server. If that doesnt work try the vga16 one or the mono one. Is there any error messages in the var/log/startx.log file?
