Problem of address reuse during installation of server

Hello all..I am trying to install the j2sdkee RI server. I got the setting of the environment variables right...when it complained of external dependency I installed libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 ...Now when I start the server with

$j2ee -verbose
I get the following...

[root@localhost ~]# j2ee -verbose

Comparing this with the head first EJB text the bolded lines should have been

Starting web service at port: 9191
J2EE SDK/1.3.1
J2EE server startup complete

So I think my system is already using port 9191 and that is the problem...I am not sure though. Can you please suggest what should be done to make the server start normally...Thanks in advance.

Do a

netstat -al --program

to see what is using 9191, kill the process that is by doing

ps -A | grep theprocessyouseefromnetstat

and then try again.

Hello...I tried

netstat -al --program

But it does'nt list a process using the port 9191. I became root and tried, still it did'nt show up...but I can see port 9191 listed in /etc/services ...The lines from that file are as follows

sun-as-jpda 9191/tcp # Sun AppSvr JPDA
sun-as-jpda 9191/udp # Sun AppSvr JPDA

I tried $ps aux|grep sun-as-jpda
root 3004 0.0 0.0 4044 672 pts/2 R+ 08:20 0:00 grep sun-as-jpda

I repeatedly try to start the server but everytime it results in the same screen...Any pointers or suggestions are most welcome...
