Problem loading soundjuicer

I am on Kubuntu 8.04. When I try to load soundjuicer, either from Kmenu or panel, the hourglass keeps turning but SJ never gets loaded. If I restart 8.04 and click on panel, SJ loads, but if I kill SJ then try to load SJ by clicking on panel, it again fails aand I haave to reboot. Could someone help me fix this problem?
