problem installing vmware server on Fedora 8..

after installing vmware I run the vmware-config.pl command, and I get stuck on the gcc compiler, I've installed serveral libraries, but I guess I'm still missing something..
here's the code
Code:

None of the pre-built vmmon modules for VMware Server is suitable for your
running kernel.  Do you want this program to try to build the vmmon module for
your system (you need to have a C compiler installed on your system)? [yes]

Setup is unable to find the "gcc" program on your machine.  Please make sure it
is installed.  Do you want to specify the location of this program by hand?
[yes]

What is the location of the "gcc" program on your machine?

The answer "" is invalid.  It must be the complete name of a binary file.

What is the location of the "gcc" program on your machine?

thanks

You will either have to install the developer tools in Fedora or (the more desirable choice usually) install some prebuilt packages for your distribution. If it isn't in your main repository, check some 3rd party repositories (depending on which ones you look at, some are dependent on others).

Good luck!
