Unhappy Problem installing Oracle Enterprise Linux

Hello friends,

I am trying to install Oracle Enterprise Linux Release 4 Update 5 (x86 32 bit)
on my system which has Intel pentium D processor.

When I inserted disc1 installation started but after showing

-----------
running /sbin/loader
-----------

my system hung up

then I tried another option --- linux noprobe
and the screen showed

-----------
running /sbin/loader

kernel panic - not syncing: drivers/ide/pci/atiixp.c:225: spin_lock (drivers/ide/ide.c: c038bd48) already locked by drivers/ide/ide-iops.c/1234
-----------

and my system hung up again.

Please tell what could be the problem and how can i solve it.

Thanks and regards
Kuber

Have you contacted Oracle? They'd be your best resource, and could walk you through setup/installation. And since you pay for support with Oracle, it's best to use it.
