Problem Installing Linux XP

I am trying to install Linux XP but it keeps telling me that it won't install because of some error of sorts. but it tells me to run apci=debug and then do install it with noapic.. I have tired to run noapic at boot but it will not do any thing.. is there something special that I am should type before or after noapic? (also one more question about this program any one know if it actually runs windows programs alright..?

Thank you all..

If you are looking for something to run Windows program, you should probably run Windows, not Linux.

It would help to know what the error was. If it tells you to use noapc, and you have, then that's not the solution to your problem.

Since Linux XP is commercial software, you should probably also ask at the company's support page. http://www.linux-xp.com/support/

It should be telling you to type something like pci=noapci (although this may depend on the kernel version). You can find out far more about command-line parameters than you ever wanted to know at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kern...n_pdf/ch09.pdf
