Do you want to install linux next to windows, or erase windows and install linux?
Did you free up some space to install linux?
In general, o dual boot, you need to re-size the windows partition, so you can create a separate partition for linux.

Kind regards

Please post more info:
1. Which distribution do you try to install?
2. At which step do you get the error message?
3. What is the exact error message?
