HI:
mine name Odnan and I'am glad of becoming a new member to the forum family.
After all these years i finally thrash the Q/S of Microsoft. And downloaded the Ubuntu desktop 7.10. Since I'am a newbie to the Linux family. I have two question.
Q #1 Can anybody direct me on how I can get hold of some info on the basics or of the Ubuntu D/T or the title of book that would help me. In another word users "HOW TO".
Q #2 I' trying to install a Lexmark X5270 all in one printer. When I try to open driver disc thru application menu tap i getan error saying that is not available, On the add/remove window it shows lexmark 5000, but on the type drivers side it say canon_si dri.
Any little of help in guiding the right direction will be appreciated.
About your printer. As far as I know lexmark devices've got a very poor linux support. Producer don't provide drivers at all. But I've heard about some experimental third-party drivers - try to google for them.

Thanks for your quick respond. I will try and Google it. i will do some third party research
and if I come up with something, I would pass on to the forum. Also I would try and get the book from the library or from Noble Books Stores.

Hi Odnan
I am having a similar problem with Lexmark and Ubuntu. Were you able to find any 3rd party drivers to allow printing from Lexmark computor.
