problem installing CentOS 4.3 server (no valid devices were found)
 
im installing CentOS 4.3 server, on the partition part of the installation a got some error "An error has occurred - no valid devices were found on which to create new filesystems", i already load the driver of SATA raid by fdo driver, i got 80gb seagate sata, motherboard asus P5VD2-VM SE, can anyone help to solve this problem, thanks in advance!!

Of course, not using "SATA raid" will probably fix this too. You should realize that you cannot boot linux from this kind of RAID (yet - certainly not CentOS 4.3) anyway.

During the install process, you can configure software RAID to your hearts desire. Note: your mobo HW RAID is faked. Linux software RAID usually outperforms fake-RAID in benchmarks. i.e.

True HW RAID can be identified by the way it looks just like a single PATA or SATA drive to linux. No need for additional drivers.

You usually have the option not to use onboard RAID: exercise that option - turn the RAID off.

"fake" RAID is a kind of software raid which is partially implimented in HW - with a driver to fill in the gaps. It is called "fake" because it attempts to give the impression of being full hardware RAID.
