Problem in starting package manager of suse linux

Hi,
I installed suse 12.1 and i am completely new to it. I am not able to start the package manager or install any update through it. This is the warning
Code:
Pacakagekit is blocking software manager, close it and try again?
On attempt to close it, its not being successful.
So i tried killing packagekit process by the kill command. It started automatically again after few seconds. How to stop it running infinitely? deleting the packagekit is least understandable. Any better option? Kindly help... Thanks.

Regards...

You can find a solution on the OpenSuse forum here.

Scroll to reply #4. Also read reply #6. The process to kill may be called packgekit or packagekitd.

The better option is just to wait. Packagekit is part of the SuSE auto-updater, and is going out to refresh the online sources, so it can tell you what needs to be updated. If you just wait, it'll finish updating, and put a little icon in your system tray. Clicking it will let you update.

You can also, after packagekit is done, run the update manually. Your choice.
