problem in reinstalling linux

i was using dual boot system with WIN XP and FC3. i had two paritions of hard disk under linux. due non-availability of space in windows i formatted one of linux parition using windows adminstrative toools. now on rebooting the boot loader could not start. however i have recovered windows using WIN XP CD and repairing it. but i'm unable to reinstall FEDORA CORE 3 or even FEDORA CORE 4. i have also tried SUSE 9.3 .
an error comes "attempt to kill init". Please suggest me how can i reinstall linux on my PC.

The message "attempting to kill init" would be better described as, "ohmygod, init died!" ... ... You see, init is not allowed to terminate for any reason. It is the "magical Process Number One," the progenitor of all other processes, the Grim Reaper, the process without which Linux/Unix cannot run.

So what we really have here, is some different problem. There are several possibilities at this point, so what you need to do first is to provide us with some detailed information. What other messages do you see, before this happens?

hi ankush,
try making a fresh installtion after formating the linux partitions.
on windows format the linux partition through mycomputer->manage->disk management ....u can use fat32 fs time being to format them..then while installing the linux chose yr fs accordingly.

regards
