Problem in mounting

hi,
i am facing an error in mounting a device file..
My fstab looks like this (for the device files concerned)...

/dev/hda2 /home/abhishek/music auto defaults 0 0
/dev/hda1 /home/abhishek/miscellany ext2 umask=0,user 0 0

I login as username:xyz
so i want the above device files(/dev/hda1 and /dev/hda2) to mount to the points mentioned automatically at boot time with write-permission enabled to the user:xyz

I changed the options field of /dev/hda1 to 'umask=0,user' on the advice of a member in another forum but it didnt work..

Any ideas?

What is the filesystem used on /dev/hda1 ? If it is windows ntfs, you would be able to write to it. A nice overview of /etc/fstab is here: http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/fstab.html
