Problem in making i-ball webcam operate properly

I bought a webcam (i-ball C8.0 face to face). I have a pc with Windows XP and Mandriva gnome 2010 free edition, dual boot. I have installed skype in both the operating systems.

Windows: I plug in the webcam in the USB port and DIDN'T install any driver. In Skype the camera is working perfectly.

Mandriva: Skype is unable to make the webcam operate. I tried the Cheese Webcam Booth. That also didn't function properly. Instead of showing video it is only only showing a still photo.

Please suggest how to make the webcam operate for both skype and Mandriva Linux.

Cam is not listed at the Linux-USB device overview (http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/index.php). OP continued off-site with more information and partial results here ("1e4e:0100 USB 2.0 Camera Etron Technologies", also see http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/#devices).
