libx11-dev and libxmu-dev

Please try this : ( after the cdrom is removed from "Software Sources" )
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
.....

thank you a ton ..sir ..

i have successfully installed as well as validate "ns2.33" in "ubuntu 8.1" .

but i dont know how to run and how to work on it ?? please guide me ...????

Go back to post # 3, read, and consider.
Check the path's with the command : env | grep PATH

Install to the system for easier path's ( # 3 again ).

And please read other LQ threads from users of ns2.
> > LQ 'Search' > "Tag Name" = ns2 . ( e.g. 6 months back.)
You will find examples and links to examples + documentation.

Use words and sentences of your interest as keywords
for Google.

The basic command is : ns <file>.tcl
which either opens nam and / or writes a file nam.out,
to be used with nam : ' nam nam.out '
