problem in installing ndiswrapper on fedora7...How to install the source code??
hi,
I am using fedora7 . got the netgear wg311v3 wifi card. Need to install it. The install instructions of ndiswrapper say that I need to have a link to the kernel source code. (ls /lib/modules/'uname -r'/build should have atleast include directory and a '.config' file) I can't figure out where is the kernel source code?(is it there in the install DVD...if on DVD then which file and where? or do i have to get it from Internet or is it already installed somewhere????)(I am confused) Also how do I make the link to the source? my WiFi card is netgear wg311 v3 . Is there any other mehod to get it detected in fedora7? The questions may be stupid....Pardon me for that...I am a complete newbie... Thanks, Vineet |
Install the freshrpms-release package, as root type;
rpm -ivh http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp....fc.noarch.rpm When done still as root type; yum install dkms-ndiswrapper This will install the kernel-devel and kernel-headers packages if necessary. If you want the source code then you can get it from Fedora; http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...dates/7/SRPMS/ |
