Thumbs down problem in getting sudo permission

Hi Friends,

I am using RHEL 4. I creat my separate login as "raj". And update the /etc/sudoers file with "%raj ALL=(ALL) ALL". Sudoers list is updated.
But when I login through my user id and run this command "]$ sudo mkdir dir_name" , it complains that "raj" is not in the sudoers list.

Any one can help me out.

Thanks

Raj

%raj makes sudo look for the group raj

To look for user raj just take out the % character

Thumbs up sudoers list problem is solved

Thank you dear,

I solved the problem something similar to what you have suggested.

I creart user group with same name as user ID , that is "raj" in my case.

And stuff start working

Have a nice time
