problem in dial up in fedora 3 ,unable to connect to internet


hi.... I am facing a problem while using dial up in fedora 3 , i used kppp and did all set up in that and when tried to use dial up it says modem ready but stucks at modem initialization , please help me out to resolve this issue.

how did you configure kppp?
what kind of modem is this?

Smile modem problem

whether internal or external.If internal motorola has driver.So post about the modem

Always assuming that the internal modem is a motorola modem... BTW: when typing English (and many other languages) one leaves a space after punctuation. It makes it easier to read, and helps when copying and pasting.

It is also useful to edit your profile (both of you) to show your distro and location.

Modem is Agere AC'97 modem , in configuration of kppp as modem i sepecified modem device : /dev/ttys1 , flow control :hardware ,Line termination : CR , connection speed :115200 , Authentication :CHAP

and when i do connect in kppp gui , it says modem ready then stucks on modem initializing .

Sounds like an internal winmodem. Namely, it is designed to work only with windows.

You want the scanModem script from http://www.linmodems.org/ ... it needs a driver, probably martian or smartlink. The scanModem script tells you which one. That linmodems link has a lot of info - lots of reading ahead of you.
