Problem in compiling GRUB

Hello guys!! I am a new user and I read about linux I studied in California

Here is the error when I do this: ./configure --host=i386-pc-linux-gnu --without-curses

the the error shows up like this:

C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.

here is my config.log

Code:

This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by GRUB configure 0.95, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59.  Invocation command line was

  $ ./configure --host=i386-pc-linux-gnu --without-curses

I think you have an old grub source file that hasn't been updated in a while. Grub 0.95 isn't being maintained anymore.

Part of the problem is that -V is no longer used to identify the version - it is --version, and no source file is required.

I'm not sure about the link error, but suspect it is an out of date link option (or library reference).

As for additional problems, relinking the grub boot loader will depend on the system you expect to use it. It can only be used on legacy BIOS systems, UEFI (with secure boot) will fail as you would have to get the binary signed before it will work (and grub 0.99 isn't supported - you need a newer one anyway).

Well I'm making a embedded Operating System for my phone..

I want to make operating system though. I studied all Languages, My professor wants me to try the Linux Kernel
to start off.

Phones don't use Grub. Grub legacy is pretty much limited to Intel architectures and the PC/BIOS specifically. It cannot use UEFI, and for secure boot, you have to pay to get the binary signed BEFORE it can even be tested.

ALL languages??? not a chance - there are too many different languages. Major languages maybe - C, C++, Perl, Python... Though C++ is not used for kernel programming. Applications for doing things (such as configuring) can be done in Perl/Python/C...
