Problem in booting a new kernel
 
Hello,

I am novice....I am using UBUNTU 8.04..I tried to boot an new kernel...I compiled the new kernel and installed it correctly...But when i go with that kernel i am getting error as "File not found"...Dont know what is the problem....Can anyone tell me what will be the error.....

You need to give the exact error message you receive.

Are the initrd and System.map files also in the correct place? Have you configured your bootloader correctly for the new kernel?
At least describe what you did and what is contained in your /boot directory.
