Problem creating directories

Hello Everyone
I'm having difficulting creating "functional" directories. I created a directory at the command line within my home directory. I see it in the terminal, but when I cd to it, it tels me "no such file or directory. I can see in terminal the directory I created however it doesn't show up in nautilus. The error message i get is the following, "you cannot change the contents of the folder". Helppppppppppppp

Thank You

You lack the proper information for anyone to actually help you. Normally the user account has it's own directories already created from installation of system. What additional directories do you need/or want to create?

In most distros Computer is alreay listed so you may have to create a different name for the directory.

?!?!?!? - that is nonsense and provides no useful help to the OP.

To OP, at the terminal, where you say that you can see the directory you created, type the following and post pack the line for the directory you created.

Code:
ls -l
Also, could you tell us the distro, and what you typed to create the directory.

well without knowing the commands you used ?????
there is no real way we could help
just the normal everyday commands
Code:
cd ~
mkdir computer
ls -l
cd computer
"cd ~" means cd to the HOME folder of the user in the terminal
"mkdir" make directory
"ls -l" - makes and displays a list
if the folder is there then "cd" into it
