Problem burning an open suse 12.1 boot disk

Hello to all.
I am just now getting into Linux. I downloaded open suse 12.1 and tried to burn it to disc with CDBurnerXP. Almost everywhere I checked, CDBurnerXP was recommended to do this. When I click on cdburner to go to where I have the ISO file downloaded and click on the file, the burner tells me I need a writable disk that holds 4.13 GB. YIkes! The cd-rw I was trying to use only is writable with 7.28mb of space. What am I doing wrong here? I have searched high and low to find out what type of disc I need. I apreciate any and all help offered.
Thank you very much!

Hi Linux Wannabe,

Welcome to LQ!!!

What is the size of iso file that you have downloaded. If it require 4.13 GB as it appears from what you said then you will require a DVD to write on.

Single layer DVD can handle around 4.4 to 4.5 GB of data and dual layer DVD handle around 7.8 to 8 GB of data.

If the size of the ISO is 4.13 GB then a single layer blank DVD will work for you.

Thank you T3RM1NVTOR,

I just rechecked and the ISO file is 4.12 GB. I tried open suse a few years back and looking forward to it again. I guess I need a dvd now.
