Problem after upgrade from 11.3 to 11.4 opensuse

I was upgrading my system and my battery died in the middle, so now when I boot the system up I get the opensus splash screen but no login box, I have about 300gb of files/docs so formatting and reinstall is not an option for me.

how do I boot into rescue or recovery mode and fix this issue please ?

Maybe boot to 11.4 cd/dvd and try to see if the installer will pickup where it left off.

Others may have better answers also on this.

Actually I found that if you click CNTL+ESC it drops into shell, there I run zypper dup and now its running, I hope it will rebuild the broken packages.. let's see.

Well I manage to get it working but there are a few new problems, the Nautilus file manager is showing windows without the frame, no option to maximize or minimize the window... very strange looking. System doesn’t read USB removable sticks.

I tried reinstalling gnome-desktop and nautilus but it did not fix those issues with nautilus.

Any ideas ? Thanks
